Title: HepaAir - 34 BTC down, What now? please help
Post by: Rassu322 on December 13, 2011, 04:19 am
Okay, if the seller had at least replied to my messages or even attempted to use the resolution center, I probably wouldn't have felt the need to require more assistance

But he's now reading some messages but not replying, and just pure ignoring other messages.

The seller -  http://silkroadvb5piz3r.onion/index.php/silkroad/user/12215

I sent him 34.05 BTC Directly (as requested) and he put up a "10 gram querkle feedback" order worth 0.00 BTC just for feedback, it was this order that went into the Resolution Center

He messaged me saying his friend, who he intrusted with all the packages apparently was stealing them

Now, again this could be forgiven if he at least kept the lines of communication open.

Here's the thing, to me 34 BTC is quite a lot, and its Christmas soon, you all know what a stressful and expensive time of year that can be

I dont have any spare money to buy back more BTC, so he is really screwing me on this, I can appreciate if it wasn't his direct fault, but he does have a responsibility to at least keep lines of communication open with people he took money from but provided nothing in return! not even common decency, and based on his other feedback, he's ignoring others too.

So my question is this, what can I actually do about this?

Edit - forgot to say, I have an account under Rassu322 on the marketplace which has a good 3-4 successful transactions with various sellers, this is the first time I've had a problem on SR :(

This scammer, thief liar also got me with the same story about his friend stealing packages or something.  I had sent 150 bitcoins directly to him as well.  I was sympathetic at first because he kept the communications going, then a week passed and nothing.  I did get a message end of last week asking how much he owed me and he would refund and was out of town.  I then messaged him all weekend with no replys.  His rating has gone down from 99 to 68.  I think he is full of shit and in way over his head but I think we need to keep these threads going and keep messaging him

150! oh mate, thats terrible

Sounds like he has an entire line of people waiting for refunds here!

Argh so typical, i should have kept with the trusted established sellers, but I'm starting to doubt everything he says more and more

I am sorry you were duped as well, this guy is a thief, I hope I have him painted all wrong and he was out of town, in hospital, had a dead relative, lost power etc and thats why he hasnt refunded/communicated with people in days.  I have also alerted the fraud prevention dept at SR so they are aware of the issue since it looks like well over five people are victims to him

I have had great luck with a number of established sellers and I deviated from that which was a huge mistake.  I hope this can get resolved for the both of us, sorry this has caused you so much angst also

I'm not sure what you expect but you went outside of escrow. you gave up insurance on your purchase. Its very unlikely you will see any of the money back, from now on either stay in escrow or buy from the few very reputable sellers with hundreds of good sales under their belt. sorry but its the truth.

You guys are 1000% right,.  I have a stable to high echelon sellers who I generally always deal with, I took a chance on a "too good to be true " deal from a seller with a 99 rating and got burned.  Lesson learned.  Its awful and it sucks but hopefully this is a message that will reverberate around the forums and smarten people up while getting rid of the scammers and scumbags like HepaAir

Guys based on my experience here on SR I woulds say he's vanished...if a seller deletes your message without reading it it will show up as "Read" in your sent box. All I can say is it sucks...it really does and it makes you lose your trust. I learned the hard way with Dramsterdam but no more it is escrow or nothing with me. It's only human nature to want to get more for your hard earned money but sometimes you have to pay a little more and and have the safety of knowing you will get what you want. In the future why don't you message the seller directly and ask them to put up a custom listing for you? They are usually very accommodating and want your business.

Sending BTC directly is the same as doing an order out of escrow, sad to say their is no resolution this that anyone on the forums can help you.
You must PM Silk Road(http://silkroadvb5piz3r.onion/index.php/silkroad/user/1) himself about the situation but out of escrow transactions Silk Road will not reimburse in my experience.

Note: All Members sending btc out of escrow or directly void all obligations of Silk Road to reimburse you.
I hate this is the way things are ran but I have no control over it.
All vendors asking for early finalization should be avoided unless you have had a long history with said vendor and trust them 100% and even then the earth keeps rolling around and things could go wrong.
I'm locking this thread because we have so many HepaAir scam threads going I'm trying to concentrate them in one thread: http://dkn255hz262ypmii.onion/index.php?topic=6832.0
